NETWORK presented by Intercultural Arts and Northern Roots

Network is a three-year initiative developed by Northern Roots with Intercultural Arts, funded by Northern Rock Foundation to connect creative individuals who have come to our region as refugees or seeking asylum to the arts and cultural venues, institutions and agencies as well as artists already working in our region. Network aims to link with the national refugee and asylum seeker initiative; Platforma.
The opening event is to take place on 16th October at Dance City from 1pm to 5pm as part of the Boss Sounds Weekend. The guest of honour at the event will be Newcastle Central MP Chi Onwurah - herself a former refugee who grew up in Newcastle.
Professionals will share their experiences and advise participants about where to find help to develop their own artistic practice and to work together. They will also be invited to attend a celebration event at World Headquarters as part of the Boss Sounds Weekend.
This event is aimed at creative individuals who are in our region as refugees and asylum-seekers and open to other creative professionals.
