|In June 2009 I graduated from Dartington College of Arts. The degree course allowed me to excel in many areas including a number of valuable experiences working with youth.
During my time at university I was involved in numerous activities bringing young people and performance art together.
I have taken part in projects facilitating small groups in theatre practice and music, located at various schools and colleges.
On leaving Dartington I returned home to Newcastle Upon Tyne with a renewed understanding of what it was to live on my own and to challenge myself with both work and money management. I have since been working with Shameless Enterprises building sets for the upcoming television production of ‘George Gently’ for the BBC. I have also been working on a voluntary basis at a the YMCA for a local Community Radio Station whilst producing music for London based dance company, Uproar Street Dance.
Currently, I work mostly independently in two fast paced bars, serving, handling money and maintaining the bar and cellar area. Previous jobs have included being in charge of a team at Tynemouth market, organizing the placement of staff, setting up stalls etc. and allowing the market to work and run smoothly, sometimes with a lot of pressure to meet requirements. With regards to these and other work experiences I have been able to enhance my independence and ability to work both collectively and as a leader.
